Day 1: Marrakech to Atlas Mountains, Ouarzazate, and Dades Valley

On the first day of your 5-day tour from Marrakech to Fes, your driver will pick you up after breakfast. Our first stop is the famous Ait Ben Haddou, a Berber kasbah featured in many films, such as Lawrence of Arabia and Gladiator. After exploring Ait Ben Haddou, we’ll continue to Ouarzazate, the “Hollywood of Morocco,” where we’ll visit the Ouarzazate film studios and the Taourirte Kasbah. We will also stop at Dades Valley, known for its beautiful kasbahs, before arriving at our hotel for the night.

Day 2: Dades Valley to Todra Gorge and the Sahara Desert of Merzouga

We’ll visit a nomadic family and share tea and learn about their way of life. Then we’ll head to Khamliya, a village known for its rich history and Gnaoua music. Enjoy a live performance of this traditional music before visiting Lake Srij, a seasonal lake where migratory birds stop. After lunch at a local restaurant, you’ll have some free time to relax or explore.

In the evening we’ll head to the camel park for a memorable camel ride to a desert oasis camp. Along the way we’ll stop at the dunes to watch a breathtaking sunset. At the luxury desert camp you’ll experience a traditional nomadic night with delicious local dishes and music and dancing, and stargazing around the campfire.

Day 4: Merzouga to Ziz Valley, Middle Atlas Mountains, Ifrane, and Fes

On day four of your 5 days desert tour from marrakech to fes, we’ll wake up early to watch the sunrise, take photos and have breakfast before heading back to the hotel. We’ll then travel from the Sahara Desert to the lush valleys and forests and high mountains of the Atlas Mountains. We’ll stop at Ziz Valley, Ait Sheker, Tizi Ntlghamt, and Midelt, and explore the cedar forests where you may spot wild monkeys. Next we’ll visit Ifrane often called the “Switzerland of Africa,” before continuing to Fes, the imperial city where our tour will end.

Day 5: Full Day in Fes

On the final day of your 5 days tour from marrakech to fes, you will enjoy a guided tour of Fes starting with the historic Medina. You’ll explore the ancient schools like Attarine and Bou Inania and the famous Madrasa, and visit the Royal Palace, the Jewish Quarter and fountains and Andalusian-style palaces. We will also visit the mausoleums of Sidi Ahmed Tijani and Moulay Idriss II as well as Al-Qarawiyyin University, the first in the world.
